EARLY CIRCA 1940's MOBO BRONCO ROCKING HORSE - D SEBEL & CO Ltd ORIGINAL CONDITION. THIS IS A VERY EARLY, PRE 1947 VERSION OF THE MOBO BRONCO SPRUNG MOVEMENT ROCKING HORSE MADE BY D SEBEL & CO Ltd. THIS MOBO HAS A ROUND MANUFACTURERS CHEST LABEL WHICH STATES IT WAS MADE IN LONDON THE MOBO FACTORY MOVED FROM LONDON TO ERITH IN KENT IN 1947. THESE EARLY MOBO HORSES ARE ALSO OF THE STRAIGHT MOVING TYPE RATHER THAN THE LATER STEERABLE VERSION.
FOR IT'S AGE, THIS MOBO IS IN GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION. THE PAINTWORK IS IN GOOD TO FAIR CONDITION.
THERE IS SOME SPOT RUSTING PARTICULARLY TO THE TOP OF THE LEGS AND TOP OF HIS HEAD. AND THE INTERNAL SPRUNG MOVEMENT WITHIN THE PRESSED STEEL BODY IS IN WORKING ORDER. THE MOBO PROPELS FORWARD WHEN THE RIDER PUSHES DOWN ON THE STIRRUPS [PEDALS] AND THEN RELEASES THE PRESSURE. THE STIRRUP PEDALS ARE FOLDABLE AND EMBOSSED WITH THE MOBO LOGO. THERE ARE FOUR CASTER TYPE WHEEL CONCEALED WITHIN THE HOLLOW HOOVES ON WHICH THE MOBO MOVES. THIS IS A NICE EXAMPLE OF THE VERY EARLY PRE 1947 MOBO ROCKING HORSE. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 30" HIGH AND 28" LONG.
