Art Deco stem vase, l. Unused and in mint condition. This very attractive Lorna Bailey hand painted Art Deco inspired tall vase measures. Approximately 31cm (12.25") high x 10.5cm (4.25") in diameter.
It has Lorna's signature and number 29 of a worldwide issue of 50 of this design in blue (instead of the customary black) to the underside of the vase under the glaze. This vase also carries the Lorna Bailey Studio Designs 2002 backstamp. It is in perfect, as new bright and clean condition with no chips, cracks. Or damage and has been carefully stored in bubble wrap over the years and has never been on display. As with all Lorna Bailey ceramics, this item was never issued with a box.
From a private collection in a non-smoking home and will be very well wrapped and boxed for the journey. Lorna Bailey's artistic career began when she joined her father's business, LJB Ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent, as a painter. At the same time Lorna began designing a series of cottage, tree and abstract patterns based on the pottery of Clarice Cliff. In 1995 at the age of seventeen her House and Path and Sunburst patterns were put into full production. A collectors club was formed in September 1998 and in 2003 LJB Ceramics changed its name to Lorna Bailey Artware.
