Lorna Bailey Galleon Book Ends Limited Edition C/w Certificate In Mint Condition

  

Pair of limited edition colourway Galleon book ends. Complete with certificate of authenticity. Unused and in mint condition.

This very attractive pair of Lorna Bailey limited edition colourway hand painted book ends issued in 2007 measure approx. 13cm (5") high x 9.5cm (3.75") wide x 6cm (2.25) deep. A dated certificate of authenticity is included and they have a very rare red signature and l. Imited edition of 7/50 inscription (instead of the customary black) to their undersides under the glaze. They are in perfect, as new bright and clean condition with no chips, cracks or damage and have been carefully stored in bubble wrap over the years and have never been on display.

As with all Lorna Bailey ceramics, these book ends were never issued with a box. From a private collection in a non-smoking home and will be very well wrapped and boxed for the journey. Lorna Bailey's artistic career began when she joined her father's business, LJB Ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent, as a painter.

At the same time Lorna began designing a series of cottage, tree and abstract patterns based on the pottery of Clarice Cliff. In 1995 at the age of seventeen her House and Path and Sunburst patterns were put into full production. A collectors club was formed in September 1998 and in 2003 LJB Ceramics changed its name to Lorna Bailey Artware.
