Moorcroft Pottery Allegro Flame design limited edition 150 99/15 shape

  

Rare opportunity to acquire this vase, an early pattern designed by premier designer Emma Bossons, F. Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Who has recently, in 2018, just clocked up 20 years as a member of Moorcroft's Design Studio and still working away. The design was the first ever on the 99/15 shape.

One of a limited edition of 150 pieces in the Moorcroft 2004 catalogue. The back stamp shows Emma's signature in full as a limited edition. The inspiration for the piece was described in the 2004 Catalogue as follows. Poppies are a well-known and popular flower. Often seen growing wild in meadows, or along the verges of country lanes, the poppy can be found in a variety of shapes of red, orange, pink and yellow.

Emma chose glorious orange poppies, tinged with highlights of golden yellow for her design. The first vase ever to be created on the new 99/15 shape, the poppies' heads and leaves climb the vase like flames.
